前阿根廷国家图书馆馆长、著名作家博尔赫斯一生酷爱读书,对于他来说,图书馆就是他的宇宙,也是他的天堂。在清华附中国际部,我们也为学生和老师们创造了一个阅读天堂。在这里,每个人都可以发挥想象力,通过探索和学习,收获成长

Mr. Jorge Luis Borges, the former Director of the Argentine National Library and famous writer, had a lifelong love of reading. For Mr. Borges, the library was his universe and paradise. At THIS, we also want to create a reading paradise for our staff and students – a haven where everyone can expand into their studies and grow their minds through imagination and exploration.


联合国教科文组织《学校图书馆宣言》中提到,“学校图书馆为所有人的教与学而服务。学校图书馆提供信息和思想,它们是人们在当今信息和知识社会中成功运作的基础。学校图书馆培育学生终身学习的技能、开发他们的想象力,使得他们能够成为具有责任感的公民。”

As the UNESCO School Library Manifesto states, “School libraries serve the teaching and learning of all people. School libraries provide the information and ideas that are the foundation for people to function successfully in today’s information and knowledge society. School libraries nurture students’ skills for lifelong learning, develop their imaginations, and enable them to become responsible citizens.”

在清华附中国际部,图书管理员并不仅仅负责图书馆日常维护和图书收藏,同时也承担图书馆专业教学的工作。她们不断丰富学生的阅读种类,了解学生的阅读兴趣,着力于培养学生的阅读素养。针对不同学部,图书管理员以学生的成长需求为中心,带领学生们以不同的方式参与图书馆活动,还开设了不同的专业教学时段。

At THIS, our librarians are not only responsible for the daily maintenance of the library space and the book collection, but they also provide instruction. From time to time, our librarians will find a book that may have been forgotten in a corner or had been languishing on a shelf to reintroduce to students. By piquing their curiosity and interest, these once-forgotten books just come back to life. Our librarians lead our students to new and exciting paths through these great literary finds. These gems become the key to unlocking our students understanding of the world and enriching their imagination.

在小学部,Stephanee老师会在“故事时间”陪孩子们一起翻阅书架上各式各样的图书,介绍书中的人物、情节和知识。另外,小学部还有关于如何使用图书馆、如何检索图书、如何判断信息准确性,以及如何安全使用互联网等知识的课程。随着时间的推移,学生们升入高年级后就会发现,这些课程不仅培养了他们的阅读兴趣,更让他们养成了良好的读书习惯,拥有了高效的学习技能

For the primary division, Stephanee spends Story Time with the children going through the books introducing them to the characters, plots, and knowledge. Additionally, the primary students are taught on how to use the library, how to search for books, how to understand the accuracy of information, and how to use the Internet safely. These may seem, at first, like procedural learning, but over time, as students move into higher grades, they will discover that these lessons have helped them discover their interests in reading and have given them good reading habits and effective study skills.

在中学部,学生们除了在图书馆听课和借阅书籍以外,他们还作为创新者,积极参与图书馆的重新设计。他们会与Nathalia老师一起讨论,并参与图书馆活动策划。比如,本学期中学部学生就提议图书馆可以根据不同年级的需求对图书进行分区摆放,在图书馆入口处的书架较低,便于低年级学生取书以及检索图书馆资源。

For secondary division, in addition to attending classes hosted the library and checking out books and resources, some students are actively engaged in its redesign and improvement. They discuss with Nathalia the functions, needs, and challenges of the library. For example, this semester, the secondary students have helped create specific library zones where the needs of different grades are addressed such as placing the lower shelves at the entrance to make it easier for younger students to access books and retrieve library resources.

在清华附中国际部,图书馆是实体课堂,也是数字空间。在这里,借由阅读、查询、研究、思考、想象和创造,学生实现信息到知识的转化,并获得个人的、社会的、文化的成长。它是信息空间、教学空间、技术空间、社会空间,亦是数字公民中心和文化中心。

At THIS, the library is a real learning space and also a digital space. Through reading, querying, researching, thinking, imagining and creating, students can realize the transformation of information to knowledge, and gain personal, social and cultural growth. It is an information space, a teaching space, a technological space, a social space, and a digital citizenship center and a cultural center.

在图书馆,图书管理员会选择不同类型的书籍,如果发现一本书被遗忘在角落里,或是在书架上沉寂,就会将它抽出,与学生们一起阅读讨论。有时会在小学的“故事时间”读这些书籍,随着孩子们对阅读的兴趣渐渐增长,被遗忘的书籍仿佛又焕发了生机。在“故事时间”里,孩子们带着自己的好奇心开始阅读之旅,图书馆老师们会带领他们去往很多新奇的路径,找到那些近乎被遗忘的优秀作品。书籍也就成了打开他们认识世界、丰富他们想象力的钥匙。

In the library, librarians will select different types of books for students, and if they find a book forgotten in a corner or languishing on a shelf, they will pull it out and read and discuss it with the students. Sometimes these books are read during Story Time for primary students. As the children’s interests in reading grow, the forgotten books seem to come back to life. During Story Time, the children take their curiosity on a reading journey, and the librarians lead them to new and exciting paths to find great works that have been nearly forgotten. Books become the key to unlocking their understanding of the world and enriching their imagination.

图书管理员总是在思考如何最大化发挥图书馆的作用,创造一个学习的空间,让每个人都感到受到欢迎,每个人都能找到阅读和学习的兴趣。

Our THIS librarians are always thinking of ways to make the most of the library. They want to create a learning space where everyone feels welcomed and where everyone can find something of interest to read and learn about.

在清华附中国际部,温馨舒适的图书馆全天对学生和老师们开放,如果学生在上学前提前到校,Stephanee老师会带着他们提前到图书馆。另外,图书馆每晚开放到5点,每周一、周二和周五开放到5点半。我们希望,图书馆真正能成为大家的阅读天堂,不论是午间休息还是下课放学后,大家可以随时走进这里,徜徉书海。

At THIS, our warm and comfortable library is open to students and teachers all day long. If students arrive early before school, Stephanee will take them to the library. In addition, the library is open until 5:00 p.m. every day and until 5:30 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday and Friday. We hope that the library will truly be a reading haven, whether it is during lunch break or after school, where everyone can come in and enjoy a book at any time.

馆藏图书的多样性使学生和老师们能够从阅读中得出不同的想法和观点,与书中作者或人物产生思想碰撞。学生们会在这了与朋友谈天,或是安静地学习,或是进行小组讨论。老师们会在这里备课,或是阅读。希望在不久的将来,我们的家长也能够来到图书馆,参与更多校园活动。图书馆属于清华附中国际部大家庭的每个人。

Our warm and comfortable library is open to students and teachers all day long. Whether it is during lunch break or after school, everyone can walk into the library anytime and immerse themselves into the thousands of titles. The diversity of the collection allows the staff and students to draw different ideas and perspectives from their reading. They can connect with the authors or the characters and ideas in the book. Students come to chat with friends, study quietly, and/or have group discussions. Teachers also come in to prepare lessons or take a moment to read. Hopefully, in the near future, our parents will be able to return to the library and participate in campus activities. The library belongs to everyone of the THIS family.
