While the success of last school year's musical Wizard of Oz still lingers on campus, Tsinghua International School (THIS) is proud to announce this school year's musical will be SpongeBob the Musical.
The performances will be staged on May 22-23, next year as a highlight of THIS Arts Festival celebration. The performance will be open to the public, and all faculty, students, and friends from various sectors are warmly invited to witness this burst of creativity and passion together.

Auditions will be held in Classroom 417 on December 11 and December 18, and we look forward to meeting every shining one of you.
If you are eager to participate but are unable to attend on the dates above, please reach out to the musical's director and theatre teacher, Erica Clare. She will do her best to accommodate flexible arrangements so that no passion goes unnoticed.
Six Months to Perfect Your Passion
At HIS, "Doing it, and doing it to the best" has never been just a slogan. Starting in January next year, weekly rehearsals will become a special part of the routine.
Under the guidance of professional teachers, students will learn singing, dancing, and acting, as well as collaboration, perseverance, and communication.
The stage is a rigorous yet romantic classroom. Here, every line is polished, every movement carefully considered, and every scene thoughtfully crafted. Over six months, they will prove with their dedication: true passion means being willing to invest time and wisdom in what you love.
Spotlight on Stage, Glow Behind the Scenes
School musicals are a collective creation filled with laughter and warmth, where every contribution—both onstage and behind the scenes—shines as an essential light.
Whether you dream of stepping into the spotlight to showcase your talents or prefer to help build a magical world behind the scenes—from set design and technical support to costumes, props, and backstage coordination—this student-led musical will be entirely crafted and brought to life by students themselves.
Here, everyone is a creator, and everyone is a leading role. We believe the process of hands‑on creation is just as inspiring as the final performance on stage.
By taking part, students will gain far more than just a musical performance: they will build confidence and friendships through collaboration, learn empathy and perseverance in the process of creation, and experience support and belonging within a community.
This aligns perfectly with THIS' educational philosophy — nurturing students of outstanding character and empowering them to fully realize their potential.
Please save the date on your calendars for May 22–23 next year and come ready with applause and warm embraces.
Together, let’s dive into this vibrant underwater world—full of laughter and crafted entirely by the hands of our students.
