Amidst the gentle fall of glistening snowflakes and the radiant smiles and voices of children, the Tsinghua International School (THIS) Primary Winter Concert joyfully commenced on December 12, 2025. This year's concert presented a festive musical feast brimming with multicultural charm for the THIS community.

As parents arrived in the afternoon, a light snow began to dust the campus. By showtime, the snowfall had grown heavier, cloaking the pine trees in silver and transforming the world outside the auditorium windows into a scene straight from a storybook.
Overture: A Special Performance by the THIS Primary Choir
The concert opened with the Primary Choir's rendition of "Christmas in Any Language." Sung in Chinese, English, French, and Spanish, this unique opening not only showcased music's inclusivity but also delivered cross-cultural holiday wishes through the children's innocent voices, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the evening.
Concert Hosts:

Grade-Level Highlights: Echoes of Growth
Grade 1 Poem:
Grade 1 enchanted the audience with two contrasting pieces. "I Got a Hat For My Snowman" was full of childlike wonder, while their solemn and heartfelt delivery of "Sing in the Holidays" revealed impressive musical maturity for their age.
Grade 2 Poem:
Joyce Xia, Jinjin Wang 2W
Ningmeng Zhou, Daniel zhang 2P
Grade 2 blended the classical and contemporary in "Christmas Canon," adding their own touch with jingle bells and the triangle. Their performance of "Christmas Cookies," accompanied by desk bells, transformed into a joyful "kitchen symphony."
Grade 3 Poem:
Mia Chen, Apollo Geoxavier 3W
Ethan Song, Eveleen Feng 3P
Grade 3 delivered a standout diverse showcase. The pure sound of recorders carried through "Rather Jolly Olde St. Nicolas," while a duet in "Here Comes the Snow" wove voices together like falling flakes. The grade brought down the house with "We Will Jingle," complete with cool sunglasses and infectious rhythm that had the entire audience clapping along.
Grade 4 Poem:
Grade 4 impressed with their instrumental skills. Their cheerful ukulele performances of "Jingle Bell" and "Up on the Housetop" were perfectly complemented by their voices. They then offered a grand and heartfelt tribute to the season with "The Greatest Season."
Grade 5 Poem:
Grade 5 presented a creative feast with "Various Themes on 'Fa La La,'" innovatively weaving excerpts from famous classical pieces like "William Tell Overture" and "Beethoven's 5th" into the melody using xylophones. "That's Christmas to Me" beautifully conveyed the warmth of family, and their finale, "Jingle All the Way Medley," seamlessly strung together holiday classics.

Special Feature: A Surprise from the Teacher Choir
From the start of the semester, Ms. Rebecca led the Teacher Choir in rehearsing the challenging a cappella piece "White Winter Hymnal." Their professional execution of this complex multi-part song, complete with body percussion, earned a sustained round of applause.
A Final Note of Thanks
A special interactive segment became the concert's highlight. Led by Ms. Rebecca, all the primary students taught the audience parts of the song "Snow Day! Snow Day! Hip Hip Hurray!" for a massive community sing-along. In this moment, the stage and audience became one, with parents, teachers, and children participating together—a moving memory for many and the perfect ending to the concert. "This must be the most perfectly timed concert in the world!" Ms. Rebecca remarked humorously. "This snow seems specially ordered as a gift for our show, and it looks like the 'delivery' was right on schedule."
This concert was meticulously planned and guided by Ms. Rebecca, with every student shining brightly to compose this winter's warm movement. Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire THIS teaching faculty for their professional collaboration and steadfast support, to the parent volunteers for their dedicated efforts, and to the school leadership for their unwavering support and vision. Every contribution, seen and unseen, converged to make this performance a lasting, radiant memory.
Thank you to every member of THIS for making this winter night so special. The music may pause, but the warmth continues. We'll see you next year!
