Fostering Global Ethics in an Age of Post Truths
什么是后真相时代?“后真相”词条被收入在牛津词典2016年度词汇中,它的含义是指在公共对话领域中,我们所见证并体验到的现实,与事实真相越来越不相关。它所指向的,是这个事实和证据不再真实的时代。我们正处在一个信息过剩的时代,事实、观点、标签、社交媒体消息、点赞、表情等,无处不体现出这样的特点。而受此影响的不再是一个小群体的人,而是遍布世界各地的人们。现在,是时候让我们来澄清事实,探讨它们到底意味着什么,以及如何能够更好的帮助个人、社区和国家。
What is an age of post truths? Entered into the English vocabulary in 2016, post-truth is a reality in which we witness and experience the increasing irrelevance of the facts in public discourse. It refers to a time when facts and evidence can deceive. There is an over-abundance of information, whether they be facts, opinions, hashtags, tweets, posts, likes, hearts, hugs, and everything else in between. The people affected are no longer in one small community, but are scattered all around the world. The role of THIS-MUN is to clarify the facts and what they mean to be able to help people, communities and nations.
清华附中国际部模拟联合国社团成立于建校之初的2009年,由学生主导,是学校里建立时间最长的社团之一。
Established in 2009, THIS-MUN is a student-led club, and one of the oldest clubs at the school.
THIS-MUN致力于开拓同学们在各类国际事务中的视野、激发专业写作潜能和锻炼领袖才能。在每周的社团活动中,同学们都会接触到很多社会热点话题,例如和平与安全、贫困与发展、人权、环境、公共卫生、全球化等,社团成员和老师引导同学们用国际化的视角来看待问题、思考问题和讨论问题。
It is dedicated to developing students’ perspectives on various international affairs, stimulating their professional writing potential, and practicing their leadership skills. During the weekly club sessions, students are exposed to global challenges, such as peace and security, poverty and development, human rights, environment, public health, globalization and other topics, aiming to guide students to understand, think and discuss the issues with an international perspective.
THIS-MUN发展的十余年来,成员们一直活跃于各大会议的赛场上,在辩论中展现出了精湛的口才,在与外校的学生合作时表现出了优秀的组织力和领导力,在演说时将在课堂中学到的历史、政治和文化等知识融会贯通,活学活用,体现出了对各类会议议题的充分理解、丰富的知识储备和扎实的文化底蕴。带着这些特质,清华附中国际部模联人在参赛时获奖无数,更重要的是,同学们自身对知识的理解在独特的会议经历中也得到了深化,全球视野得到了扩展,综合素质得到了提升。
For more than 10 years, members of THIS-MUN have been active in many conferences, demonstrating eloquence in debates, and leadership when working with students from other schools, and integrating and applying the historical, political, and cultural knowledge they have learned at school to their speeches. Also, they demonstrate a full understanding of the various conference topics and global issues, showcasing their rich knowledge base and a solid cultural background. With these qualities, THIS students have won many awards and, more importantly, their understanding of global affairs has been deepened.
清华附中国际部希望学生们通过模拟联合国等社团活动,成长为兼具中英文双母语能力与国际传播能力的国际人才。我们鼓励学生自主开展多元的社团活动,使其能够放眼国际社会,了解联合国等多边国际组织的运行机制;也鼓励学生们未来有志投身于公共外交和国际交流工作中,站在国际舞台积极对外展现中国文化根基、参与全球治理、沟通文化思想,未来能自信地以“中国根基、国际视野”的全球公民姿态,努力完成“讲好中国故事”的重要使命。
THIS nurtures, within classrooms and through student clubs like MUN, our students to become global citizens with both native Chinese and English language skills, and international mindsets. Our students are encouraged to develop diverse club activities on their own, so that they can look at the international community.
Clubs such as MUN, help students specifically learn about the operational mechanism of multilateral international organizations, such as the United Nations. They are also encouraged to devote themselves to public diplomacy and international exchange work, to stand on the international stage and actively show their Chinese cultural roots, participate in global governance, and communicate their cultural ideas. Looking to the future, these same students will be able to confidently carry out the important mission of “telling the Chinese story” within a global context and with an international vision.
