Curriculum Afternoon

小学部 Primary School

9月23日下午，国际部一至五年级的学生家长来到附中，参加了小学部课程说明会。小学部主任介绍了国际部的小学概况、课程概况、期望与要求；教师们进行了各年级报告、任课老师报告。

On the afternoon of September 23, parents of students from grade one to five participated in the THIS primary school curriculum afternoon. The Primary School Director gave an overview of the primary curriculum. Teachers gave grade level and specialist presentations to parents. At the close of the afternoon, a short and wonderful interactive session was set up.

9月25日下午，稻香湖校区的学生家长参加了与国际部流程一致的小学部课程说明会。

课程说明会为家长提供了沟通的平台，拉近了老师与家长的距离。

On the afternoon of September 25, parents of students from the Daoxiang Lake campus participated in the primary school curriculum afternoon.

The Curriculum Afternoon strengthens the bonds between parents and teachers. It also provides parents the opportunity to share information with one another.

中学部 Secondary School

9月23日和25日下午，国际部和稻香湖校区分别举办了中学部课程说明会。

中学部课程说明会分为两部分：由班主任主持的班级活动，以及由任课老师主导的课程说明讲解。在班级活动中，班主任们向家长介绍自己经历，让家长更了解他们；与家长互动，通过 “交流卡”等活动来促进家校沟通。

On the afternoon of September 23 and 25, parents of students from grade six to twelve participated in the THIS secondary school curriculum afternoon.

The curriculum afternoon for secondary school was divided into two parts: class activities organized by homeroom teachers and curriculum presentations given by every teacher. Homeroom teachers designed rich activities to communicate with parents.

课程说明讲解以年级为单位，任课老师依次就课程内容、学习目标以及评价方式做简要概述。国际部立足“中西合璧”的教育理念，充分做到以学生为中心，注重互动式教学、体验式教学。此次课程说明会，家长既感受到了专业深入的中文和中国历史的教学，又看到了富有创意、极具国际视野的STEAM课程和人文学科等。

Each teacher gave a brief overview of the course content, learning objectives, and evaluation methods associated with their classes. THIS strives to provide high-quality education, combining Eastern and Western cultures. THIS offers a student-centered education paying close attention to hands-on learning and constructivist teaching. Parents experienced the professional Chinese and Chinese history class through the curriculum presentations, and also got to know the creative STEAM and humanities courses with international perspectives.

学生们也在家长会期间发挥了自己的作用。学生会成员建立“问询台”为家长指路；还有的学生向家长展示售卖自己设计制作的斯巴达玩偶。体现出了国际部小主人翁的精神。

Students also showed great leadership skills and took charge of hosting parents. Student council members helped direct people, and some students sold spartan dolls.

讲座 Information Sessions

除课程展示外，国际部还针对11、12年级的家长开设了大学升学指导说明会。为即将升入毕业年级的11年级学生家长讲解升学流程、考试安排、名校录取要求，以及如何提前为明年的申请季做好准备；为正在面临申请季的12年级家长详细讲解今年大学升学申请相关的新政策、大学申请中需要特别注意的事项，以及大学申请提交之后的相关事宜，并在最后留出时间现场给家长答疑解惑。

In addition, information sessions were arranged for high school parents to help them successfully navigate the process to college.

面向新生家长开设的PowerSchool培训讲座旨在让家长熟悉孩子日常使用的教学系统，帮助他们实现在线学生成绩、作业和考勤情况的查询，使家长更好地参与到孩子的学习中。

PowerSchool training was provided to explained how to use the school’s learning management system. Parents are able to stay up to date on their child’s academics and performance by checking their assignments, grades, and attendance using PowerSchool.

面向全体中学家长的中国文化考察与实践之行说明会介绍了今年国际部计划组织的国内考察活动。展现了国际部长久以来对学生了解中国文化、培养爱国精神的重视。

The domestic trips information session introduced domestic field trips organized by THIS. The domestic trips help students to get a better understanding of Chinese culture.
