 Teamwork, Harmony, Integrity and Sportsmanship

On September 21st, the annual Tsinghua International School Sports Day has been successfully held! All members of THIS family participate in this event, including station games, the Spartan Charity Run, water games, rope jumping, basketball and volleyball games, tug-of-war, as well as running, basketball, and Frisbee activities for parents. …… Everyone was connected by the spirit of sportsmanship, sweating, laughing, and “taking action” to illustrate the community cohesion and boundless vitality of the new school year!

Goal of Sports Day

The primary goal of our Sports Day is to foster a sense of community, promote physical activity, and celebrate the spirit of healthy competition among our students, parents, teachers, and the broader school community.

Spartan Charity Run

One of the highlights that our community looks forward to is the Spartan Charity Run. It’s a brilliant initiative where our students will seek sponsors among their parents, teachers, family and friends. For every lap they complete, these sponsors have pledged to donate a set amount to Beijing Zhi-shan, a wonderful organization that supports families seeking cancer treatment for their children. It’s a heartwarming way to combine athleticism with philanthropy.

On the field, students run with much energy and passion. Along the way, teachers stamped and cheered for the students, and their warm encouragement made many tired students energized again. In a short period of time, students reached an average of 7-9*400 meters, the fastest student completed 15 laps!

Secondary Sports Day

For our secondary students, there’s a twist in store. Alongside the usual field activities for the Homeroom Spartan Award, which represents our THIS Core Values, we are bringing the action indoors with gym-based activities that will contribute to the House Competition. It is going to be a blast watching students from Grades 6 to 12 collaborate across grade levels in pursuit of the House Award. Our colors – White, Purple, and Lavender – will surely be collaborating!

This year, our seniors will be diving into the activities headfirst, embodying the Tsinghua Spirit they’ve absorbed over the years. It’s going to be a fitting culmination of their THIS journey before they graduate.

Primary Sports Day

For the little ones in the primary section, it’s all about fun, joy, exercise and a finale with a splash of water to keep things cool. They are in for enjoying each activity with the same amount of focus and energy!

Parents’ Involvement

Sports Day, Family Day

Go Spartans!

We are happy to see the Parents Council taking an active role this year. Their presence is a great boost to community involvement, and they have some activities planned as well.

This year, the Parent Council planned a special “Parent Run” activity that invites all parents to experience the joy of sports along with their children. They have also specially prepared basketball and frisbee games for our parents. In addition, the Parent Council set up booths for the community to learn more about the Parent Council and the community is able to purchase THIS items from the “Spart-a-Mart”.
