THIS 1st Day Back to School | 生龙活虎共同返校园 朝气蓬勃一起向未来

2月21日，伴随着清晨的第一抹阳光照射到操场的时候，清华附中国际部的校园就热闹起来啦！今天是新学期返校的第一天，学生们结束了假期的休息，满怀期待，早已迫不及待想回到校园，与老师和同学们相聚。

On February 21th, THIS was bustling with activity. Today is the first day back on campus after the holiday break and remote learning. Students were full of anticipation and were eager to meet their teachers and classmates in person once again.

学校已经做好了全面的准备，充分保障校园安全，迎接每一位学生。防疫工作不松懈，学校特地更新了测温仪，老师们在学生返校前都做好了查验防疫状况的工作，确保全体师生返校正常。

THIS was fully prepared welcoming every student without cutting any corners with regard to pandemic prevention work. Masks, temperature checks at the door, and teachers gathering relevant student health status data help to ensure that all teachers and students return to school safely.

为了迎接学生们返校，小学东方艺术课马瑛老师对学生们每天的必经之路——体育部展示墙进行了布置调整，并且加上了可爱的北京冬奥专栏。

To welcome the students back, Ms. Ying Ma of the Primary Eastern Art class updated the layout of the Sports Department Display Wall by adding a lovely Beijing Winter Olympics column.

“看，是冰墩墩和雪容融！”在同学们路过展示墙时，都被深受喜爱的冬奥“顶流”吸引，不禁停下脚步，大家你一言我一语，讨论着各自了解的冬奥小知识。

“Look, it’s Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon!” When the students passed by the display wall, they were excitedly attracted by the popular Winter Olympics “top star” and couldn’t help but stop and discuss what they knew about the Winter Olympics.

昨日北京2022年冬奥会虽已落下帷幕，但我们相信冬奥精神会一直熠熠生辉。就像冰墩墩寓意创造非凡、探索未来、追求卓越、引领时代，希望清华附中国际部的学生们都能够以崭新的面貌面向新学期，面向未来，创造自己的无限可能。愿同学们心中有阳光，脚下有力量。2022，一起走向更美好的未来。

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics came to an end yesterday, but we believe that the spirit of the Winter Olympics will always shine brightly. Just as Bing Dwen Dwen represents extraordinary creativity, exploration of the future, pursuit of excellence and leading the times, we hope that all the THIS students can face the new semester with a new outlook. They are able to face the future and create their own unlimited possibilities. May students have sunshine in their hearts and strength under their feet. 2022, together we will move towards a better future.

上课时间开始前，学生们纷纷与好友相聚在操场，或是分享精彩的假期生活，或是拿出篮球，切磋球技。校园里洋溢着青春气息，恢复了往日生龙活虎的景象。

Before class time started, students met up with their friends on the playground to share their exciting holiday stories, to shoot basketballs hoops, and/or to play some other ball games. The campus atmosphere quickly came alive and resumed its usual vibrancy.

到校第一天，学生们还收到了中英文校报社在假期精心制作的最新一期校刊。当学生们翻开阅读时，也开启了又一学期多姿多彩的校园生活。

On the first day, all the students received the latest issue of the school magazine, which was meticulously produced by the school newspaper club during the holidays. When the students opened the magazine, they also started another new semester of colorful school life.

在正式返校前，学生们已经进行了为期一周的线上学习。有了预热，今天大家都快速投入了学习状态。课堂上，认真听讲，积极讨论，每位学生对于新学期都是信心满满的模样。

After a week of online classes before officially returning to campus, everyone got into the learning mode quickly today. Students listened carefully and discussed actively with every student looking confident about the new semester.

Spring is upon us with warmer, longer days and we are back to school in person. Smile, even through your mask, for it can brighten someone’s day… maybe even yours! For a better mood, enjoy the sunlight, don’t stay inside all day, spend time with your friends and exercise regularly. It should help you face any academic or personal challenge that this new semester could bring.

春的脚步走进了，天也变得愈长愈暖了，我们终于在校园里又见面了。孩子们，微笑吧，就算隔着口罩，也许就在无意间，你的微笑不仅会温暖你的一天，也会点亮他人的一天！新学期，保持心情愉悦，享受阳光，走到教室外面去，和朋友们交谈，规律地做些运动。有了这些，不管是来自学业还是生活的挑战，我相信你都可以在这个学期战胜它们！

The second semester is a very exciting time, especially in middle school. The students are more comfortable and familiar with the class routine and can focus more on their learning and enjoy middle school activities. I hope that students really savor the memories of this spring semester before they move into the next grade!

一个学年的第二学期总是令人激动的，尤其是在初中的时候！同学们在这个阶段已经能够习惯于课堂的规则，从而轻松应对学业，充分享受中学的各项活动。我希望同学们能够在这个美好的春季学期肆意挥洒，尽情成长，珍惜当下！

After a long break, I hope students return rejuvenated with the same enthusiasm that they show at the beginning of every school year, ready to learn and full of curiosity. I hope they have used this time to reflect on their accomplishments from last semester and set new goals to push themselves even further as students and young adults.

经过假期的休息，我希望学生们带着他们在每个学期开始时都怀有的同样的热情回到校园，带着好奇心继续学习之路。同时，希望他们也已经对自己在上学期取得的成绩进行了回顾，并在此基础上制定新的目标，使自己在学习和成长中都能更进一步。
