今年，英文演讲与辩论俱乐部继续开展综合的课程，通过英国议会风格(British Parliamentary)和公共论坛(Public Forum)的形式，探讨各种辩论主题。

This year, the English Speech and Debate club continues its comprehensive curriculum exploring various topics in debate through both a British Parliamentary style and Public Forum format.

以“探索地球中间层以外的空间是否比探索地球上的海洋更好”为题，成员们通过准备主题辩论和参加各种比赛，接触到与气候变化、太空探索、海洋环境保护、就业市场等有关的重大全球问题。

With topic, “Exploration of space beyond the Earth’s mesosphere is preferable to exploration of Earth’s oceans”, club members had the opportunity to prepare for and engage in significant global issues relating to climate change, space exploration, ocean environmental protection, job markets, etc.

2022年11月26日至27日，来自10年级的Wendy Xu和Angella Zhao参加了WSDA秋季在线锦标赛，获得公开辩论组冠军第一名的好成绩！

On November 26th-27th, 2022, Wendy Xu and Angella Zhao from G10 participated in the WSDA Fall Season Online Tournament taking first place in the Open Debate Division.

在接下来的12月10日至11日的比赛中，12年级的Amy Han和Anya Lu也为国际部团队获得了公开辩论赛冠军和最佳演讲家奖。俱乐部的每一位成员都积极参加了赛季中的几场比赛，在学习和比赛中都取得了进步和成功。

Following that, Amy Han and Anya Lu from G12 won the Tsinghua International School championship and Best Speaker Awards in Open Debate December 10th-11th. Every member of the club actively attended several tournaments during the semester and were successful in both learning and competing.

SPEECH 演讲

在演讲方面，初中俱乐部成员Jackie Zhao和高中成员Tina Cui参加了WSDA地区在线原创演讲比赛，分别带回了初中和公开组的2个冠军。

In Speech, our middle school member Jackie Zhao and high school member Tina Cui participated in the WSDA regional online Original Oratory tournament, bringing home two championships for middle school and open division, respectively.

俱乐部中也有第一次尝试演讲的中学生，他们认真积极地练习并参加比赛。演讲俱乐部还在策划面向全校的TEDx活动，以展示演讲之美，让每个人都能有尝试的机会。我们不断地收到来自其他学生想要加入的申请，我们很高兴，并期待能与他们一起合作，扩大我们的团队，让更多对演讲感兴趣的学生加入进来。无论他们喜欢什么形式的演讲，我们都非常欢迎。

We also had middle schoolers who are attempting speech for the first time, eagerly practicing and attending tournaments. Looking ahead to spring, the Speech Club is planning a TEDx event for the whole school as a showcase for speech. We’ve been receiving requests from our classmates to join and are ecstatic to work with potential new members.   We hope to expand our club to include more students interested in speech, regardless of which type or form. We love every kind of oration.

中学辩手Irene Shen和Abigail Yang第一次正式参加辩论比赛——即2022-2023年WSDA演讲和辩论秋季比赛，并成功闯入半决赛。辩手Afra Miao和Gavin Zhao参加了NHSDLC 12月的比赛，也进入了四分之一决赛。第一次作为辩手和演讲者的Parisa Dai、Flora Xu和Lucy Li也都参加了比赛，第一位参加的是演讲比赛，后两位参加的是辩论比赛。今年，清华附中国际部演讲和辩论团队中第一年加入的新赛手和第二年的老赛手都在比赛中充分展现出了他们的技能和热情！

Middle School debaters Irene Shen and Abigail Yang participated in their first ever debate tournament, the 2022-2023 WSDA Speech and Debate Fall Tournament, making it all the way to semi-finals. Debaters Afra Miao and Gavin Zhao participated in the NHSDLC December Tournament successfully reaching the quarterfinals. Also, first-time debaters and speakers Parisa Dai, Flora Xu, and Lucy Li participated in tournaments in semester one. This year, the THIS Middle Club Speech and Debate Club has shown both skill and eagerness with their first and second year students through these tournaments.

第一赛季演讲与辩论比赛的结束标志着下一学期新的无限可能的开始！随着经验和基础的不断积累和建立，THIS演讲与辩论俱乐部期待更多的比赛，与未来的国际领袖们更多的交流思想与表达！希望俱乐部的成员们在辩论中持续精进表达能力，拥有独立思考能力和创新思维能力，在成长的道路上不断成长，勇往无前！

The end of successful first seasons marks the beginning of new and limitless possibilities in the following semester! With the experience and foundation built, the THIS Speech & Debate Club looks forward to offline tournaments where ideas and expressions can be exchanged with fellow future global leaders of the world. We hope that the members of the club will continue to improve their expression skills in debates, enhance their critical and innovative thinking. Go spartans!
