12月2日，期盼已久的清华附中国际部秋季线上校园开放日如期举办。关注清华附中国际部的家长们和国际部的校长、老师们在线上相聚！一直以来，清华附中国际部都是一所家长认可度高，同时广受社会赞誉的国际学校。报名期间，我们就感受到了广大家长的热情。两个小时的活动中，线上参与人数不断增加，家长们和学校之间热烈互动，大家就清华附中国际部的情况和家长们关心的问题进行了深入的交流。
On December 2nd, Tsinghua International School held its long-awaited Virtual Open Day. This opportunity was well received by parents as indicated by our high attendance rate. During the two-hour event, the number of online participants continuously increased and there was a lively interaction between parents and the school, with an in-depth communication about the school and the parents’ concerns.
此次开放日中，清华附中国际部执行校长李文平女士首先向大家全方面、多角度地详细介绍了学校教育理念、办学优势、学生风貌和师资团队等，为家长们深度、详尽地呈现了国际部十多年来的教育实践和办学情况，全面展示了国际部的校园生态。
At first, THIS Executive Principal Li gave a comprehensive presentation about the school’s core values, key features, the student body, and 10 years of THIS’s growth and overall achievements. Prospective parents learned about the types of programs we have to offer including a general overview of our students and faculty and staff.
开放日还设置了小学、中学部分会场，针对不同学部进行介绍。家长们纷纷在线上提出自身关注的教育问题，并由各学部主任重点解答。小学部会场由校长助理白文婷女士和小学部主任Britni Padilla 女士主持，中学部会场由行政主任董文博女士和中学部主任 Dieu-Anh Nguyen女士主持。在此期间，课程主任Caroline Scott女士对初高中的课程设置也进行了详细讲解，升学指导顾问团队的老师们也在问答环节中，细致地分析了家长关注的升学热点话题。
The parents then were welcomed to join either the primary or secondary division session. THIS Primary School Director, Ms. Britni Padilla, along with Assistant Principal Bai Wenting hosted the primary division session. While, the secondary meeting was hosted by Administration Director Ms. Toni Dong and Secondary School Director Ms. Dieu-Anh Nguyen. Ms. Caroline Scott, Curriculum Director, and the college counseling team also provided a summary of our secondary curriculum, course offerings, and the college application process.

1. 清华附中国际部是开启招生了吗？
Is the admissions window open for next school year?
是的。目前清华附中国际部2022-2023学年招生已经开启，新学年招收录取的学生将在清华附中本部校址就读。清华附中国际部只有一个，位于清华附中校园内，我们欢迎广大优秀学生踊跃报名！
Yes. THIS is now open for the 2022-2023 school year. Students admitted for the new school year will be enrolled at THIS campus. There is only one THIS campus and we are located on the Tsinghua University High School campus.
2. 清华附中国际部招生对象及报名要求
Who can apply?
清华附中国际部2022-2023学年招收1年级新生及2-11年级插班生。申请者须为外国国籍，持有外国护照以及有效的中国签证页；或者为港澳台永久居民，持有港澳台永久性居民身份证以及来往内地通行证（回乡证／台胞证）。
We welcome applications from outstanding students: first grade for new students and grades 2-11 for transfer students. For foreign applicants, students need to hold valid foreign passports and valid Chinese visa pages. For students from Hong Kong or Macau, students need to hold valid Hong Kong or Macau permanent identity cards, valid mainland travel permits, and valid passports.

We combine the best parts of Chinese and Western education.
清华附中国际部始终着重于为学生提供具有中国根基、清华特色、国际品质的教育，中西合璧的教育实践及中英文双母语的培养模式已经成为学校鲜明的办学特色。我们所有的英文课程均由外籍教师授课，沉浸式的英文环境保障了学生的英语母语水平。同时，中文被列为全校一至十二年级必修的核心课程，同步使用中国教育部统编的教材，保证了学生的中文母语水平。
THIS has always actively practiced the idea of combining Chinese and Western patterns of education and of emphasizing international education with Tsinghua characteristics. Since most courses are taught in English, the immersive English environment ensures our students’ English proficiency. In addition, students also study required courses in Chinese language and culture.

不论是对外教还是中文教师，清华附中国际部都有严格的招聘要求。我们的70余名外籍教师来自美国、加拿大、英国、澳大利亚等13个国家和地区。我们的中外籍教师在自己的学科中都有很强的专业背景，教学经验丰富，且都具备教师资格证。正是老师们的专业和敬业，吸引了我们优秀的学生。
Our teachers, both foreign and Chinese, are professionally trained, have their appropriate teaching credentials, and are experienced in teaching. Many of our Chinese teachers are graduates of well-known universities with majors in Chinese language and literature. THIS foreign teachers come from all over the world including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
4. 清华附中国际部如何让中文也成为学生的强项？
How does THIS foster student’s Chinese roots?
作为清华附中体系内的学校，清华附中国际部始终都带着一份责任感。虽然我们招收的是外籍学生，但是我们希望他们在中国的学习能够为他们打下深厚的中国语言文化的底蕴，以便将来他们可以带着这样浓浓的中国特色和对自我身份的认同感，在世界的舞台上为中国发声。这也是我们一直坚持的教育理想。
As a school belonging to the Tsinghua-affiliated system, THIS has always carried a sense of responsibility. Although we admit foreign students, we hope that their studies in China will provide them with a deep heritage of Chinese language and culture. Drawing from this sense of self-identity, THIS students will be able to speak for China on the world stage. This has always been our educational ideal and sentiment.
所以，带着这样的情怀，我们始终将中文课设定为全校必修的核心课程。此外，我校在初中还开设了中国历史课和东方艺术课，打造了三位一体的中国语言文化课程体系，全方位夯实学生的中国文化底蕴。
Since the beginning, we have always had Chinese as a compulsory core subject for all grades. At the same time, we have established a Chinese-language curriculum system that integrates Chinese language, Chinese history and Eastern Art, and helps students acquire a well-rounded Chinese cultural heritage.
除了中文课程的设置之外，我们还有特色课程，例如国学课程、绘本课程和清华的校本课程。在学生活动方面，清华附中国际部每年都会举办“中国日”主题活动，为学生提供展现“中国梦”的舞台。另外，中文写作社、中文辩论社、中文报社等中文俱乐部让学生在课外进一步锻炼语言能力，感受语言文化的魅力。我校学生在中文辩论赛中屡次夺冠，迄今为止，我校已成为世界华语辩论排名最高的国际学校。
We also have our own special programs, such as our Chinese studies program, picture book program and Tsinghua school-based program. In terms of student activities, we organize “China Day” annually to provide a stage for students to express their Chinese dreams. In addition, the Chinese Writing Club, Chinese Debate Club, Chinese Newspaper Club and other Chinese clubs allow students to further practice their language skills and experience the charm of language and culture outside of the classroom. Our students have won many Chinese debating competitions. To date, our school has become the highest ranked international school in the world for Chinese language debating.

5. 学校在升学指导方面会为学生提供哪些帮助？
What kind of service is provided by the school’s college counseling team?
清华附中国际部拥有一支专业负责的升学指导团队。我们的理念是引导学生找到最适合他们的大学，让他们能够接受优质的教育，为毕业后充实、富有意义且理想的生活打下基础。老师们都竭尽全力地为学生及家长提供不同形式的升学指导支持，主要包括家长、学生讲座，学生与指导老师定期一对一面谈，大学招生官来访，学生课外活动建议，以及大学申请材料准备和面试培训等。
THIS has a committed team of professional college counselors. Our philosophy is to guide students to find the best fit college – a college that they will prepare them for a productive, constructive and satisfying life after their academic studies. Our counseling team provide students and parents various forms of guidance support including parent and student workshops, regular one-on-one meetings, visits from college admissions officers, advice on extracurricular activities, and preparation of college application materials and interview training.
同时，在课程设置方面，清华附中国际部在高中10年级以上开设了16门AP课程，涵盖了学生所需要的各类课程。更可贵的是，我们是SAT、ACT、PSAT和AP考试的考点，同时仅向国际部学生开放，使学生能在校内参加考试，为学生提供了极大的便利。
Additionally, THIS offers 16 AP courses, including science, economics, liberal arts, English language and literature. Our school is a test center for SAT, ACT, PSAT and AP exams and is only open to THIS students. Being able to take these exams on campus has proven to be a great convenience for our students.

With the support of the college counseling team, THIS graduates have been accepted to many well-known universities around the world.

清华附中国际部执行校长李文平女士在开放日中总结国际部十多年来的办学成果时讲到：
“虽然我们的历届学生在各大国内外顶尖的赛事中都表现出众，收获无数荣誉，并且被众多世界名校录取……但我更注重的是当我们“回看”时，我们的学生是否成长为了我们所希望的样子，也就是我们是否真正实现了学校的培养目标。国际部在过去的十多年中，始终以‘培养根植于中国文化，具有独立思考能力及创新精神的国际化优秀人才’为使命，培养了大批具有中国文化底蕴和国际视野的学生，这才是我们引以为傲的办学成果。”
During Open Day, when concluding THIS’s achievements for the past 10 more years, THIS Executive Principal Ms. Li Wenping said:
“While our students have excelled in top international and domestic athletic and academic events, received numerous honors, and been accepted to many of the world’s top colleges, I would focus more on whether our students are growing into what we want them to be and whether we are achieving our goals. Over the past decade, THIS has been committed to the mission of “fostering creative critical thinkers who have roots in China and prepared to lead in the global community” and has cultivated a large number of students with Chinese cultural heritage and international perspectives. This is what we are proud of. ”
