清华附中国际部的教研日是国际部教学教研的重要项目，为教师的专业发展和提升提供丰富的学习资源和交流机会。在每一年的教研日活动中，全校教师提升专业素养与技能，拓宽教学实践，以坚持不懈、不断学习的精神为学生做好榜样。
Professional Development Day is an essential part of what THIS is all about. On this day, faculty focuses on sharpening their professional skills, expanding their instructional practice, and modeling the very same love for learning as we wish for our students at Tsinghua International School.

All Staff Meeting&Department Sessions
2021年10月15日早晨的全体教师会议上，清华附中国际部Dr. Reid Prichett校长为全体教师们带来了关于清华附中国际部教师专业成长体系的教研会。通过深入细致的讨论，教师们达成一致，应在专业发展上应该将学习看作是一段旅程，在旅程中不断探索，不断学习。教师成长体系包括个人反思、目标设定、专业素质、专业学习社区建设等。教学老师们分成小组，进一步讨论、反思他们目前的教学法，提出可以推动学校教学水平提升的建议。
On October 15, 2021, THIS hosted its fall Professional Development Day. Dr. Reid Prichett, Academic Principal of THIS, kicked off the morning with a deep dive session about the school’s growth system. The emphasis of the discussion was that learning is a journey that will require perseverance and continuity of process. The growth system consists of personal reflection, goal setting, professional quality standards, and building a professional learning community. The instructional staff worked in smaller groups to further review their current teaching practices and where they would still like to go as part of school improvement process.

PD Sessions with Different Themes
教研日下午，各教研组分别进行丰富多彩的主题教研活动，由小学主任Ms. Britni Padilla、中学主任Ms. Dieu-Anh Nguyen、课程主任Ms. Caroline Scott和行政主任Ms. Dong Wenbo分别组织进行。其中主题课程包括通过课程管理主题课提升教师备课能力，交互式教学工具培训，中国语言文化主题课程，课堂中的提问艺术，教学中的多媒体工具的使用，课堂中头脑与身体的参与，正念课程，助教主题课——“为学生的生活带来改变”等，全方位为此次教研活动中的教师带来干货满满、切实可行的理论与实践的指导。教师们全程参与感满分，一天下来收获颇丰！
In the afternoon, lead teachers along with Directors Ms. Britni Padilla, Ms. Dieu-Anh Nguyen, Ms. Caroline Scott, and Ms. Dong Wenbo offered a selection of sessions from which the staff can choose. The thematic courses included approaches to lesson planning and curricular management, interactive multimedia tools, Chinese language and culture, the art of questioning, positive mind and body in the classroom, and teaching assistants making a difference in students’ lives.
The day just flew by as the staff actively participated in every session. The faculty, by design, was provided a full range of practical and theoretical guidance on how to improve their teaching and to professionally grow. With faculty leaving energized, time certainly was well spent.
行政团队会议
Admin Team Meeting
在任课教师教研的同时，清华附中国际部的行政团队也在积极开展着行政工作会议。通过不同的环节设置——国际部表白墙、“我的工作中最值得骄傲的部分……”等话题分享讨论，对于学校核心价值观在行政工作中的践行意义，行政工作的6个基础能力，以及跨部门岗位的“开放建议备忘录”等内容，生动有趣的总结行政团队的工作内容，分享工作感受，相互激励，期望在之后的工作中能够带着对学生、学校满满的爱为学校做好各项教学支持和管理工作。
In addition to the teachers, the administrative support staff also had the opportunity to group reflect. The team engaged in “confession wall,” discussions – “the proudest part of my job ……” , school’s core values in administrative work, 6 basic competencies of administrative staff and the “open suggestion memo” for cross-departmental positions……The support staff looked to the past, shared their feelings about the present, and committed to the future. Key for the team is to continually motivate one another and take intentional actions that support the teaching and management of the school with all the love of the THIS family.

“Today I am not only a listener, but also a participant. Full of divergent thinking and deep thinking. We gave feedback and discussed the problems at work while brainstorming solutions. Also through diversified thinking and many aspects of exploration we were able to find out more than one solution. Thanks for a productive day.”

“我从周五的PD课程中获得了很多有用的技能和工具。与我的团队在使用Folio协调工作时，帮助我们明确了我们教研组的目标，并专注于我们每个人的分工。下午的会议也很有意义，我在视频录制和Canva研讨会上学会使用新的工具来辅助教学，迫不及待的要用起来。在最后的研讨会上，我学到了如何以有趣和积极的方式调动左右脑，以及专注的正念。总的来说，这一天的活动很吸引人，非常有用！”
“I took away a lot of useful skills and tools from Friday’s PD session. Working with my team in Folio helped us to crystalize our department goals and focus on our individual contributions. The afternoon session was meaningful as well. I learned new tools in the video recording and Canva workshop that i will use immediately in my practice. In the final workshop, i learned how to engage right and left brain in fun and active way as well as contemplative mindfulness. Overall, the day was engaging and useful!”

“对我来说，此次活动的亮点是在一天的开始和结束。开始时设定目标可能相当令人生畏，但当与自己教研组在轻松舒适的氛围中讨论和相互支持时，这反而变成了一项令人愉快的任务。在一天结束时，我从各种培训课程中获得了一系列的工具。我非常喜欢关于身体和心灵的培训–关于“阴阳”的部分–在那里我们学会了如何帮助学生和我们自己在需要时保持活跃或冷静镇定的状态。在THIS，学习以“身心健康”为前提，而这项课程的设计完美的契合着我们的核心价值观。
“For me the highlight was at the beginning and at the end of the day. Goal setting can be quite daunting, but when sitting in the comfort of one’s department chatting and supporting each other, it was an enjoyable task. And by the end of the day, I gained an array of tools from the various training sessions. I thoroughly enjoyed the one on Body and Mind – the Yin and Yang piece to the whole day – where we learned how to keep our students and ourselves active or calm and composed as needed. At THIS, learning starts with wellbeing, and this session was an ideal reminder to one of our core values.”
