Curriculum Afternoon | 深耕学术，追求卓越，全面赋能学生成长！

    2022-2023新学年伊始，清华附中国际部在9月16日召开课程说明会。课程说明会作为国际部的传统，在每学年初举办，家长们能有机会与学部主任、每班的班主任和授课教师面对面，全方位了解学校情况与教育教学内容，对学校为助力学生全面发展所做支持做全面而细致的交流与探讨。

    As part of the successful new school year start, the THIS faculty hosted its Curriculum Afternoon on September 16th. During this annual event, parents have the opportunity to get updates about school happenings and to learn about the classes their students are taking and the supplemental services and programs we offer at THIS. Parents gain a better understanding our school, in getting to know the teachers, and in seeing what it is their child will learn and do each day. 

    虽然今年的课程说明会采取线上的形式，但说明会的热度和老师们的投入程度不减。老师们精心准备各个学科的课程大纲，提前录制视频，只为给家长们带来最精彩的课程说明，以期家长们对学校的教育理念、课程设置和教学安排有更深入的理解，更好地实现家校共育，携手为学生们的成长全面赋能！

    Although the event this year was held virtually, the teachers put in a lot of effort and time recording the course video in advance so that the parents can have a deeper understanding of the school’s philosophy and curriculum. With that, the school and the parents can work together to empower the growth of all of our students!

    本次的课程说明会以全校家长会开启，李文平校长带来了以“赋能成长”为主题的学校总体情况分享。首先，李文平校长介绍了新学年的学校领导团队成员，其中特别介绍了新任清华附中校长、清华附中国际部校长方妍女士。方妍校长自1993年到清华附中工作至今，长期从事一线教育教学工作，曾任清华附中校长助理、副书记、副校长和党委书记，是一位经验丰富的教育家。接着，李文平校长讲到，一直以来，国际部的领导团队都是一个团结奋进、务实高效的团队。新学年，领导团队将带领学校不断发展，砥砺前行。

    This year, parents were invited to an all-school parent meeting lead by esteemed Executive Principal LI Wenping. Principal Li gave a school overview themed “Empower to Grow”. She first introduced the school leadership team for the new school year. Specially, she introduced Ms. Fang Yan, the new principal of Tsinghua University High School (THUHS) and Tsinghua International School (THIS). Principal FANGjoined THUHS in 1993 and had rich,front-line teaching experiences. She had served as theAssistant Principal, Vice Secretary General of the CPC Committee of the School,Vice Principal, and Secretary General in THUHS. Besides，Principal Li introduced THIS administration team as a collaborative, positive, practical and effective team and she believes the team will lead the school to develop better and better in the new school year.

    其次，李文平校长对于近期学校的学术亮点做了介绍：国际部在上学期启动了科研导师项目，学生们在暑期已开始相应的项目学习与实践；国际部学子在国内外各类学术比赛与竞赛中屡获佳绩；2022届毕业生的升学成绩喜人。

    Principal Li went on to share the recent academic highlights of the school such as the THIS launched the Research Mentorship Program last semester with students having started their projects over the summer; recent student achievements in various academic competitions and contests at home and abroad; and the admissions results for the Class of 2022. 

    随后，新一届的家委会成员带来了精彩的家委会工作展示与汇报。新任家委主席董华春女士介绍了家委会的主要职责，回顾了家委会在过往举办的精彩活动和项目，对新学年家委会工作做了详细的新规划。新任家委会副主席郝杰先生、袁金鸿先生同样表示出对家委会工作的大力支持和承担。国际部一直以来都有着亲如一家的校园文化，在国际部社区中，家人们相互支持，相互关爱，在家校间形成了强大的合力，为学生们的发展带来了强有力的支持和帮助。

    The Parent Council also presented. Ms. Dong Huachun, the new Parent Council Chairperson, not only introduced the main responsibilities of the Parent Council, but also reviewed the wonderful activities and projects hosted by the Parent Council and gave detailed plans for future works. Mr. Hao Jie and Mr. Yuan Jinhong, the new Vice Chairmen, expressed their strong support and commitment to the work of the Parent Council. THIS has always had a strong family-school partnership and community culture.  Members of the THIS community support and care for each other resulting in  a strong bond between school and home.

    在接下来的课程说明会中，家长们分别进入到小学部和中学部分会场。各班的班主任老师们展示班级文化，讲解班级守则，与家长们建立了顺畅的沟通渠道；各年级的授课老师们制作了精彩而详尽的学科展示视频，充分展现出各学科的课程亮点和教学重点；另外，升学指导团队、心理辅导团队、学生支持团队和图书管理员们也为各年级家长们准备了项目说明手册，使家长对于学生支持的各项内容有了充分的了解。

    For this year’s virtual event, there was a blend live sessions and video presentations. Homeroom teachers opened the communication channel with parents through homeroom meetings. Teachers and specialists highlighted key learning objectives and expectations for their classes through online interaction or through wonderfully-created subject presentation videos. In addition, the college counselling team, the guidance counseling team, and the student support team including librarians prepared program brochures for parents.
