2022清华附中国际部大事记｜不忘初心，以梦为马，不负韶华

    2022年11月底，国际部接受了WASC认证考评团新一轮的访问，收获WASC认证官团队对国际部的一致高度好评。在本次的WASC考评中，教师、学生、家长、行政团队和领导团队与WASC认证官进行了深入、充分的交流，突破疫情中的层层阻碍，顺利推进新一轮测评进度，为认证过程建立了透明、顺畅的沟通和信息渠道。认证官对国际部浓厚的学习氛围、和谐的师生关系、高质量的课堂教学、专业投入的教师团队、乐学好学的学生群体、高素质的家长群体、丰富的课外活动、对学生身心健康的切实支持、应对疫情的快速响应机制、团结友爱的校园文化等方方面面都给予了高度的评价。

    2016年1月，国际学校权威认证机构WASC委员会授予了清华附中国际部六年的认证资质。在过去的六年中，学校不断自查、深入反思，一步一个脚印地对学校的各项工作进行落实、改进和优化。WASC认证标志着学校办学理念先进，教育教学优质，也向社会提供了学校的信誉保障，具有权威性与荣誉性。

In November 2022, THIS hosted a WASC accreditation visit and received high praise. In this round, teachers, students, parents, and faculty engaged in in-depth dialogue and reflection with the WASC accreditation visiting team. This visit represented the school’s commitment to the continuous improvement process while overcoming the challenges of the pandemic. The Accreditation Officer spoke highly of the caring atmosphere at THIS, the harmonious teacher-student relationships, the quality teaching, and the professionalism of teachers and staff.  Also, noted were the incredible student body, the dedicated parent council, THIS’s rich co-curricular activities, and the school’s support for students’ physical and mental well-being.

The WASC accreditation signifies the school’s advanced educational philosophy and its quality teaching and learning.  As part of the school’s operating credential, it also provides a guarantee to our parents the school’s authority and honor.

2022年1月，国际部正式启动“科研导师项目”，邀请了20余位教授和专家担任高中学生的科研导师，为学有余力的学生提供研究和实习的机会。同时，在校内增设科研导师岗位，采用双师培养模式，促进支持学生与校外导师的沟通和对科研项目的推进。从导师宣讲到学生申请，从学生的选拔到与导师确定研究方案和定期跟进，项目在持续不断地高效地推进中，科研导师项目有力地支持了学生的学术特长发展。

THIS officially launched the Research Mentor Program in January 2022, inviting more than 20 professors and experts to serve as research mentors for high school students.  This program would provide research and internship opportunities for students who are ready for this incredible challenge. Using a dual-teacher training model to facilitate communication between students and their research mentors, the school has expanded its staff on campus to help promote these research projects. From mentor presentations to student applications, from student selection to the finalization of research proposals with mentors and regular follow-up, the program has continued to move forward.

2022年暑期，第二届夏令营顺利举办，开设课程包括陶艺、英语写作、武术、戏剧、AP计算机预科等17门课程。夏令营获得参与学生和家长的满满好评，夏令营的丰富课程旨在培养学生的兴趣爱好，开拓思维视野，充分利用暑期时间，在国际部校园中快乐学习，愉快成长，解锁不同的体验。

In the summer of 2022, the second summer camp successfully offered 17 courses including ceramics, English writing, martial arts, drama, and pre-AP computer science. The summer camp received appreciation and compliments from participating students and parents. The camp’s rich curriculum focused on cultivating students’ interests, expanding student thinking, and making full use of the summer time – happily learning on the THIS campus.

2022年，学校与家委会共同创设“大师进校园”项目，相继邀请乒乓女王邓亚萍、数学菲尔兹奖得主Mr. Birkar教授，分享他们的成长故事，开拓学生眼界，点燃学生梦想，为学生的成长赋能。

同时，国际部非常重视家校沟通，坚持每月和家委会开例会，全面促进家校共育。在疫情期间，学校邀请心理专家通过家长学校举办“家有儿女上网课”等专题讲座；每周发送家长信，分享学校的教育教学活动；心理老师给家长发送亲子关系应对小妙招等关心家长的心理健康。除此之外，学校还与家委会密切合作，组织了谢师活动、小升初、初升高、大学申请等家长分享会，深受家长欢迎。学校与家委会以家校共育为基石，双向奔赴，处处凸显着教育温度。

In 2022, THIS and its Parent Council jointly created THIS Master Talks inviting the Queen of Ping Pong, Deng Yaping, and the Fields Award winner in mathematics, Professor Mr. Birkar, to share their growth stories with our students.  

The Parent School successfully hosted monthly parent sessions to promote family-school co-education. The school invited psychologists to hold special lectures such as “Students Learning at Home” through the Parents’ School.  Weekly newsletters were sent to parents to share the school’s educational and teaching activities with tips from the school counselor about parent-child relationships and how to care for student mental health. Additionally, the school worked closely with the Parent Council to organize parent-sharing meetings regarding the college application process and primary-middle school and middle-high school transitions.

国际部英语组与附中本部的英语组展开深度对话，互相观摩听课、定期交流研讨，促进教学理念、教学方法的中西融合。国际部外教积极支持本部英语组的英文原创剧比赛，在晚上的下班时间担任比赛评委。模拟联合国、中英文辩论社与本部师生共同主办了比赛活动，增进了彼此的理解和友谊。

The English teachers at THIS and THUHS engaged in professional dialogue, conducted peer observations, and shared lesson plans.  This regular exchange seminars are part of both schools’ efforts to promote the integration of teaching philosophy and teaching methods between East and West. The foreign teachers of THIS actively supported the English original drama competition of THUHS, and served as judges for the competition outside of work hours. The Model United Nations and the English and Chinese Debate Clubs co-sponsored the competition with the teachers and students of THUHS, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship. 

国际部非常注重培养学生具有清华人的社会责任感与担当精神。2022年暑假，清华附中教育基金会联合清华附中团委和国际部，在蒲公英中学举办“甫智方舟”公益助学活动，将思辨、3D建模等课程引入打工农民子女的教育生活中；小学部举办“5年级500小时”毕业公益献礼活动，学生积极参与到城乡伴读、心智迟缓儿陪伴项目中；此外，“爱心树”捐赠、线上艺术公益拍卖会、“校园因我而美丽”等各种行动更是数不胜数。

Placing great emphasis on social responsibility and commitment as Tsinghuaers, THIS together with the TUHS Education Foundation and TUHS League Committee, organized the “Fuzhi Ark” voluntary teaching program at Dandelion Middle School during the 2022 summer vacation. Our students and teachers brought courses such as critical thinking and 3D modeling to the education of children in need. The primary school held the “G5X500 Hours Community Service Action” activity in which the students actively participated in the rural-urban companion program and the children with mental disabilities companion program. Other social initiatives included the Giving Tree, Online Art Auction (raising awareness for education gender inequities), and “Our Campus Is Beautiful Because of Me”.

在海外申请竞争激烈的情况下，在2022届的国际部毕业生中，75%的学生被世界前50的大学录取，65%的学生进入美国前30的大学，80%的学生进入前40，97%的学生进前50，100%的学生进前70，录取的高校有西北大学、约翰霍普金斯大学、康奈尔大学、加州大学伯克利分校、乔治城大学、圣母大学、埃默里大学、纽约大学、斯沃斯莫尔学院、罗德岛设计学院、清华大学等世界顶尖名校。在这一届学生中，绝大多数学生自小学或初中就开始在国际部就读，各大名校伸出的橄榄枝是对国际部培养的学生的最大肯定，也是对国际部高质量的教育教学水准的最大肯定。

In spite of the fierce competition in overseas applications, 75% of the Class of 2022 were accepted to the top 50 universities in the world, 65% to the top 30 universities in the U.S., 80% to the top 40, 97% to the top 50, and 100% to the top 70, with admission offers from Northwestern University, Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University, University of California, Berkeley, Georgetown University, University of California, University of California. Berkeley, Georgetown University, University of Notre Dame, Emory University, New York University, Swarthmore College, Rhode Island School of Design, Tsinghua University, and other top universities in the world. The majority of the students have attended THIS since primary or middle school. The admissions results from top universities are an affirmation for the THIS students as well as for the high quality of teaching and learning at THIS.

暑假期间，国际部增加四间功能教室，体育馆加装隔音棉，每间教室升级安装智能互动白板和广播系统，改善学校的办学条件，加强校园的美化建设。未来，国际部还将着手更新改造更多硬件设施，建设AI实验室等，为学生提供更好的学习环境，支持学生成长。

During the summer months, THIS successfully built four functional classrooms, added acoustic foam to the gym, upgraded and installed intelligent interactive whiteboards and broadcasting systems in each classroom, , and enhanced the general decor of the campus. Looking ahead, the school has plans to renovate more areas to the school building, expand learning spaces, as well as build AI labs.

2022年12月，清华附中国际部在2022国际在线教育峰会获得“口碑知名国际化学校”奖项，标志着清华附中国际部在国际教育领域和社会上得到口碑赞誉与品牌认可。

In December 2022, THIS was awarded the “Prestigious International School” award at the 2022 International Online Education Summit giving the school acclaim and high recognition not only in the international education field, but also from the public education field.
