Q: What is the address of the school?
A: The school is located inside the Tsinghua High School (THHS) campus on East Yuanmingyuan Road in the Haidian district of Beijing---on the north side of Tsinghua University’s west gate. International students will study and live on the THHS campus. THHS is a prestigious school with many years of boarding service tradition. The boarding service is greatly appreciated by our students.
Q: Are students required to board?
A: THIS will accept high school students to board. Our policy is that we allow students to board, but we do not encourage it. Students can choose in accordance with their specific conditions and needs. Elementary and middle school students must have a strong ability to take care of themselves and the permission of their parents to apply for boarding.
Q: What are the conditions provided by the school’s boarding service?
A: We provide our students with clean and convenient living environment. Students will be living in a standard room (two students share one room) fully equipped with bathroom, shower, and AC. Each room is equipped with a writing desk and wardrobe for each student. There will also be an internet outlet in the dormitory. The bathroom is cleaned thoroughly each week. There is also a co-operative laundry room on campus, where students can send their clothes to wash.
Q: Is there a school bus?
A: The school will provide a school bus service for non-boarding students. The particular route and other details will depend on the distribution of our students’ homes. The school will make the schedule and inform parents as soon as possible after we get the names of students riding the school bus. The bus fee will be determined after all applications are completed.
Q: How is the cafeteria food?
A: We take the different dietary habits of students from different countries into consideration and provide a healthy menu. Students are also allowed to eat in nearby restaurants. The school will urge the local health department to supervise these restaurants carefully. Students with special dietary needs or habits should let the school know in advance.
Q: Are students required to wear uniform?
A: The students do not have to wear uniform everyday, but for particularly important school activities a uniform will be required.
