Over the last 90 years, THHS has cultivated a large number of students and has made splendid achievements. THHS remains top in Beijing, China and even all over the world in all kinds of competitions. We won 26 medals in total, 16 gold medals and 6 silver medals and 4 bronze medals in international subject Olympics since 1988, which made THHS a leading school in China and earned THHS the reputation of Olympic Gold Medal School．We believe that all the students from every corner of the world at Tsinghua International School (THIS) will enjoy the excellent education resources and harmonious atmosphere as well.
THHS has excellent sports tradition and complete sports facilities. Entrusted by the Ministry of Education, THHS and Tsinghua University run the John-Moore Sports Specialty Programme, which has won 74 gold medals, 55 silver medals and 29 bronze medals in Beijing Olympic Games and sports games held worldwide and nationwide since its initiation in 1986.
The women's basketball team has won the gold medal both in China and Asia. The basketball team also won the championship in Beijing many times. Especially in 2008, the basketball team won the national basketball championship for middle school students once again on behalf of China.
THHS is The Training Base of Reserve Personnel for Chinese Shooting Association and Key Shooting School of Chinese Shooting Association. Directed by Wang Yifu and Zhang Qiuping, renowned coach and Olympic champion, we have made great achievements in the shooting field.
The Choir, Dancing Society, Orchestra of Chinese Music and Beijing Opera Society have been developed very well and have won the title of Gold Sail Art Troupe in 2008. Orchestra of Ancient Chinese Music participated in the performances designed for Olympic Youth Camp and Olympic culture show, which made contributions to Beijing Olympic Games.
The art program, jointly run by THHS and Tsinghua University, has achieved a lot too, ten of 22 graduates entered into Art School of Tsinghua University in 2007, which made it the first place in admission rate table nationwide.
We make remarkable records in National Aeronautics and Astronautics Model Championship for Youth, Radio Direction Finding Competition, International Robot Olympics for China District, National Navigation Model Competition for Youth and National Science and Technology Innovation Contest. One paper, "Gene Clone and Secondary Structure Analysis of Its Nucleotide of Mulberry Leaf’s Atrophia Virus," written by Zhu Ruochen, the student of THHS, won the first scholarship and second prize of Microbiology of American Phytopathological Society, which made him win first prize of National Science and Technology Innovation Contest for Youth, the silver sail prize of Beijing City and Mayor’s Award for Science and Technology Innovation of Beijing City. International Astronomical Union named an asteroid Zhu Ruochen.
