Tsinghua University, one of the leading universities in China, is located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing – the capital city of China. Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsinghua Xuetang”, and the campus was built on the scenic site of former royal garden “Tsinghua Yuan”. Tsinghua University, grows in fine tradition of the Chinese culture, embraces the school motto of “Self-Discipline and Social Commitment”, and forms the spirit of “Actions Speak Louder than Words” as well as the atmosphere of “Preciseness, Diligence, Truth-Seeking and Innovation.” Combing with both Chinese and Western culture, Tsinghua has educated a large number leaders and scholars for China.

Tsinghua High School, also called the High School Attached to Tsinghua University or abbreviated to THHS, grew out of Chengzhi School founded in 1915, and was renamed in 1960. Tsinghua High School falls directly under Ministry of Education, and is one of the key middle schools and the first model high schools designated by Beijing government. Following the doctrine of “Education/Cultivation-Oriented, Student-Centered, Free and Overall Development”, THHS has made tremendous progress and is now enjoying a high reputation both at home and abroad.

Tsinghua International School (THIS) is affiliated with THHS. THIS was founded in 2008 to provide international students- children of foreigners and returned overseas Chinese- with a curriculum featuring Western educational philosophy and practice, emphasizing integration of Chinese and Western cultures, and dedicated to cultivate elite leaders with a global vision.
